The starting point of corporate security is identifying “what needs to be protected first”

Withnetworks, a specialized ICT and information security company (CEO Ahn Jong-up), announced that it has secured the Korea Housing Finance Corporation’s “Integrated Information Security Portal Construction Project,” and will establish a next-generation security governance system based on its integrated asset and vulnerability management solution, “withVTM 3.0.”
Recent cyber threats have evolved beyond targeting vulnerabilities in specific systems, infiltrating through “Shadow IT” that lies outside of managed areas. As IT environments grow more complex with cloud and IoT, servers, applications, and network devices that companies are unaware of become the easiest targets for attackers. “Security cannot even begin without clearly knowing what to protect” — this is the core principle of modern cybersecurity.
The key to this project lies in answering the question: “What should be protected first?” Korea Housing Finance Corporation was seeking a way to integrate its dispersed security operations, automate inefficient management processes, and effectively respond to increasingly strict security regulations. The top priority was establishing standards and systems to identify truly critical risks among numerous IT assets and threats.

The solution proposed by Withnetworks, “withVTM 3.0,” offers a fundamental answer to this challenge. More than a simple asset management tool, this solution defines the strategic starting point for corporate security. It automatically discovers all IT assets connected to the network, accurately identifies the applications and services running on each asset, and visualizes hidden assets previously unrecognized by administrators. This enables the integration of all asset information into a single database and establishes a clear baseline for security management.
Once asset identification is complete, withVTM 3.0 proceeds to the next phase. It automatically maps all identified asset and application information to globally known security threat data (CVE), and analyzes which vulnerabilities each asset is exposed to. It then comprehensively evaluates the CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) risk scores and asset criticality to derive a priority list of “threats that must be addressed first.” This data-driven decision-making allows limited security personnel to focus on the most critical threats.
Additionally, its flexible integration with various commercial and open-source scanners provides a vendor-neutral, objective vulnerability analysis environment, while continuous monitoring enables real-time threat detection and response. Furthermore, by digitizing audit and evaluation evidence and automatically generating reports, it significantly improves compliance-related workflows.
The innovative approach of withVTM 3.0 is summarized in three key strengths. First, the visualization of hidden threats. It automatically discovers all assets connected to the network and identifies the applications and services in operation, revealing threats unnoticed by administrators. This enables the organization to eliminate blind spots and establish a stable security management system based on integrated asset information.
Second, it realizes data-driven risk assessment. It analyzes vulnerabilities of all identified assets in real time by linking with global threat intelligence (CVE), and derives the “most urgent risks threatening Korea Housing Finance Corporation’s core financial systems” by combining asset criticality and threat urgency. This allows the security team to respond first to the most important threats with limited resources.
Third, it provides enhanced compliance and audit readiness. To prepare for complex audits by financial authorities, withVTM 3.0 digitizes necessary evidence and automatically generates relevant reports. This enables security personnel at Korea Housing Finance Corporation to escape repetitive and inefficient tasks and focus on core threat analysis, thereby strengthening the overall security capability of the corporation.
CEO Ahn Jong-up of Withnetworks stated, “Winning this project is a recognition that withVTM 3.0 fully supports an integrated security governance framework, from asset identification to vulnerability analysis, remediation, and compliance,” and added, “By clearly defining ‘what needs to be protected first,’ the starting point of corporate security, we will successfully lead the digital security innovation of Korea Housing Finance Corporation.”
Withnetworks plans to use this achievement as a stepping stone to aggressively expand its next-generation security solution business, focusing on public institutions and the financial sector.
