Withnetworks Launches AiriX, a Wi-Fi 7 Solution with Built-In AI Security

Withnetworks, an AI-based network and security company, announced on the 15th that it has launched AiriX, a wireless LAN solution that integrates wireless security into Wi-Fi 7 access points (APs) and AP controllers, and will begin supplying the solution in Korea.


The core of AiriX is its patent-pending wireless security technology, HawkAI. Rather than adding separate security equipment, existing APs operate as security sensors that detect threats on the wireless segment at the point of access. AI then determines whether an actual attack is taking place, after which blocking or isolation can be executed directly from the AP where the threat was detected. Withnetworks is positioning this integrated approach, which combines WLAN infrastructure and wireless security into a single system, as a new product category called “security-focused WLAN.”


The Korean WLAN market is entering a full-scale transition to the Wi-Fi 7 generation. According to market research firm IDC, Wi-Fi 7 accounted for 44.5% of enterprise managed (dependent) AP revenue in the first quarter of 2026. Adoption is also beginning in telecommunications companies’ internal networks, public Wi-Fi, and school wireless networks. Wireless security, however, has traditionally been implemented separately from WLAN infrastructure, typically requiring dedicated sensor networks and security monitoring servers. As a result, when organizations replace their WLAN infrastructure, wireless security is often deferred as a separate task. Withnetworks is targeting this gap by offering organizations the ability to establish a wireless security monitoring infrastructure at the same time they upgrade their WLAN.


The observation point for HawkAI is the AP itself. AiriX Wi-Fi 7 APs are equipped with on-device IDS sensors that detect wireless and network threats in real time at the point of access. At the wireless layer, detection targets include unauthorized APs (Rogue APs), Evil Twin attacks, and deauthentication attacks. At the network layer, targets include DDoS attacks, port scans, DNS tunneling, and data exfiltration. This means organizations do not need to build a separate wireless security system: the existing wireless service coverage itself becomes the security monitoring range. Monitoring also remains continuous even when a client device moves to another AP. Because the detection and blocking points are the same, the time required to respond to threats can also be reduced.


AI is responsible for determining whether detected signals constitute an actual attack. Events detected by the AP are first collected through the centralized monitoring system of the AP controller. When indications of a potential attack are identified, the HawkAI analysis server performs an in-depth analysis of logs from the relevant AP and cross-validates multiple attack signals. At this stage, a large language model (LLM) determines whether an actual attack is occurring based not on individual alerts but on a chain of behaviors. It also automatically generates a report explaining the basis for its determination, allowing administrators to decide on an immediate response. Threats classified for policy enforcement can then be blocked or isolated at the client-access level.


The entire process is completed within the customer’s network. Intelligence used for threat assessment is supplied through a proprietary offline database, eliminating reliance on external clouds or commercial data sources from detection through AI analysis. This makes the solution suitable for public-sector, defense, and financial organizations where external transmission of security events is restricted, as well as for closed networks and network-segmented environments.

AiriX APs continuously check the integrity of their firmware and core processes even while in operation, enabling them to detect signs of tampering at an early stage. Wired and wireless packet analysis is also performed directly on the APs, allowing abnormal connections and sharp increases in authentication failures to be identified without separate IDS/IPS equipment. Integrating security functions, including HawkAI, directly into the WLAN product itself is a key differentiator of AiriX.


AiriX consists of two access point models and two AP controller models. The flagship X740, designed for high-density environments, features a 4×4 tri-band configuration across all bands, delivering a PHY rate of 18.67 Gbps and supporting up to 1,536 clients per AP. The X720, meanwhile, is designed to leverage existing PoE+ infrastructure and features a 2×2 tri-band configuration, delivering 9.33 Gbps and supporting up to 768 clients per AP.


The AP controllers are available in two versions: the cloud-based CloudX and the on-premises XC500, allowing customers to choose their deployment model based on network segmentation and data governance requirements. Both products use the same management interface, while closed-network sites can also be integrated into a single console through Pathway, a secure remote-access tunnel.


Along with the launch, Withnetworks is running an introductory promotion and recruiting new partners. By positioning wireless security as a key criterion for WLAN adoption in a market that has traditionally compared WLAN products mainly on performance and price, the company aims to open up a new business opportunity for existing WLAN providers without competing directly with the brands they already carry. WithNetworks will provide product training, technical support, and initial sales assistance, while working with partners to secure deployments in sectors with stringent security requirements and establish an early foothold in the market.


Ahn Jong-up, CEO of Withnetworks, said, “Introducing and operating WLAN and security separately increases management complexity and results in duplicated investment. AiriX is designed so that existing APs can be used as security monitoring points, enabling customers to establish a wireless security framework simply by upgrading their wireless infrastructure.”


He added, “The architecture, in which everything from detection to AI-based determination is completed within the customer’s network, is particularly effective for public-sector, defense, and financial organizations where external transmission of data is restricted. We will move quickly to secure partner channels and take the lead in the security-focused WLAN market.”
